On the road by bike during the vacation with children

Kick in the pedals together and cycle up and down. Biking in any form is possible in Saalbach Hinterglemm and creates shared memories for parents and children. After all, we are in the largest biking region in Austria with the 80 km of trails and lines around Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn. In addition, there are several 100 km of versatile and promising mountain bike routes from easygoing to ultra difficult. The legendary Hacklberg Trail in Saalbach and the Epic Bike Park in Leogang are the highlights of the region. So that not every meter uphill must be completed "by pedalo", the open mountain cable cars are waiting to transport bikers with the Joker Card 2 x daily free of charge uphill.

Kids love stories. And kids love adventure. The Espape Trail has plenty of both. Here, our guests aged 12 and up can expect a colorful mix of scavenger hunt and puzzle rally, of course well packaged in an exciting story. The Espape Trail is tackled in small groups of 2 to a maximum of 12 people and takes about 3-5 hours, whereby the pure walking time for the approx. 5 km long route is about 1.5 hours.

Let's start at the Tourism Service Center, where the game sets are waiting, which are located in Buckelkraxn. Then nothing stands in the way of starting the game, and the trail awaits with its puzzles to be solved, locks to be picked, messages to be decoded, and mysterious maps to be read and messages to be deciphered.

To bring along: A smartphone with a full battery, good physical condition and surefootedness, good shoes, drinks and a small snack!

On summer vacation with children

For hiking to be fun for kids too, it needs a goal. Like the Kids Hiking Challenge, for example. The goal here is to complete a total of 6 hikes: the hiking trail, the Baumzipfelweg, the fairy tale forest, the summit Zwölferkogel (takes 1-2 hours comparatively long and is demanding - surefootedness!), the summit Schattberg (also comparatively long with 1-2 hours and is demanding - surefootedness) and the motor skills trail.

An important companion is the Kids Wander Challenge Pass, which you can pick up at the Saalbach Tourist Office. This is punched per hike at three control stations. Those who have successfully completed all the hikes at all the control stations will receive a very cool, well-deserved reward at the tourist office.

On family vacation in the summer

If you want to become a bike freak, you need to practice early. That's why the "Learn to Ride Park" in Saalbach is open from the earliest age. Parents can encourage and challenge their bike fleas, for teenagers there are camps with professional coaches. And above all, parents and children can learn and perfect a great hobby and pastime together. Get started right away for free at the Learn to Ride Park on the Turmwiese next to the Kohlmaisbahn in Saalbach. Five well-known Saalbach trails await you here in a mini edition.

After the first attempts at riding on the circuit, you gradually feel your way up to the first "big trails" on the Learn To Ride Park trails Little Monti, Little Hacklberg, Little Panorama, Little Pro-Line and the Drop Area, which start at the Kohlmais middle and top stations: the Monti and Panorama trails on Kohlmais. The park is suitable for small and large beginners alike.

Here it's not just about pure coordination, but also a lot of fun - and the cool mountain bike feeling that it awakens. You also meet other bike fans, exchange ideas and make new bike friends. Afterwards, the whole family goes on the Monti Trail or the Blue Line. If you have managed both of them, you can try the more demanding lines, such as the Pro Line, the Z-Line or even already the X-Line? The main thing is to have fun!

With the toboggan on rapid downhill runs

Lots of winter fun promises a tobogganing excursion. The toboggan run closest to the Hotel NEUHAUS starts at the Spielberghaus for the descent. The ascent to 1,300 m above sea level can be done on foot - or you can be shuttled to the start of the toboggan run with the snowcat. Then nothing stands in the way of the rapid 3 km long descent.

A tobogganing adventure even by floodlight is promised by the run on the Reiterkogel in Hinterglemm. On the 3.2 km long run you can also toboggan in the evening from Monday to Saturday, the use is included in the ski pass price.

Fun on the ice during vacation with children

Winter snow and ice fun also includes a trip to the ice skating rink on your winter vacation with the family. In Saalbach Hinterglemm the ice rink is located in the sports center and is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, Thursday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Whether the kids prefer to glide elegantly like swans across the ice or chase the puck, everything is possible here. Ice skates are also available for rent here.

On the road with 2 horsepower

How about pure romance for a change? Wrapped in thick blankets, you'll take a horse-drawn carriage towards the end of the valley to the Lindlingalm. Start and end of the tour is directly at the Hotel Neuhaus. The horse-drawn carriage ride with the whole family can be booked both in the evening and in the afternoon and promises wonderful hours in the deep snow-covered winter landscape - fairytale quality time for young and old.

A challenge for the kids

As the name suggests, the Kids Winter Challenge in Saalbach Hinterglemm is a real challenge for the little guests at Hotel NEUHAUS. What is the Kids Winter Challenge all about? Well, it's all about collecting points. The kids have to stamp the Kids Winter Challenge symbols on their passports at the Baumzipelfweg, in the fairytale forest, on the mountain peaks and on the numerous fun slopes and snow trails in the Saalbach Hinterglemm area of the extensive Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn Ski Circus, but also on the illuminated toboggan runs. When the passport is full, you get a cool medal in exchange for it at the tourist office!
