Nordic Walking tours with the mountains in Glemmtal as the backdrop

Twelve very well signposted routes provide the optimum conditions for Nordic Walking and running in Saalbach Hinterglemm. Along with easy routes for those new to the sport, there are also challenging mountain tours in the breath-taking mountain backdrop of Glemmtal.

Nordic Walking really is on-trend. There is hardly any other sport that is as effective and yet is comparably risk-free and which can be enjoyed by anyone. This gentle endurance sport is also easy on your joints and by using a pole means you can enjoy a full body workout, something which is unfortunately often underestimated. Correct use of the arms is crucial to do this sport properly; they should be really stretched out and therefore be used to "drive". While moving, the elbows are moved forwards and brought behind the upper body, and the whole body is stretched. This means that Nordic Walking is ideal for people who sit a a lot in their daily life.

There are also lots of different variations of Nordic Walking - from quick walking to running with poles – anything goes. Thanks to the gentle beginnings, the sport is also ideal for those who aren’t keen on sport and for people who are overweight. And with the breath-taking scenery of the Pinzgau mountains, practicing this sport is even easier!

Our Nordic Walking tip: the Kohlmais circuit

The 10 km trail starts at the intermediate station for the Kohlmais cable car and proceeds across forest trails and also through fairy-tale forests. Enjoy the unique views to the Northern Limestone Alps and the impressive ice-covered summits of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Ascent via the Kohlmaisbahn is of course included in the  Jokercard .
